For garment measurements,
use a measuring tape or use a piece of string and measure the string length with
a ruler.

Collar |
Pick a shirt with a collar that fits you well and lay the collar flat. Measure
from the center of the collar button to the far end of the opposite buttonhole.
Alternatively, measure around the base of your neck.

Width |
Width measured from shoulder tip to shoulder tip. |

/ Chest |
The garment is measured straight across the chest where the bodice joins
the sleeves. This measurement is doubled. (Tucks and gathers are spread
out before measuring.)

Measured in a straight line from the shoulder seam to the tip of the sleeve
hem (or the end of the cuff). |
